ABOUT

Australian Directors Guild conference was held from Sunday 27 February to Tuesday 1 March 2011 in Adelaide, South Australia.

Held in collaboration with the Bigpond Adelaide Film festival (BAFF) and Australian International Documentary Conference (AIDC), the ADG offered 3 days of masterclasses, workshops and seminars.

Aimed at mid-career directors as well as newcomers, delegates were given a rare opportunity to extend and advance their professional development from highly esteemed directors – both international and Australian.

Days one and two were dedicated to drama and narrative in the digital realm. Docudrama will be an additional strand on day three.

DRAMA – International and local directors will run masterclasses, with Actor/Director workshops sitting alongside 3D and the Action workshops.

DIGITAL - Workshops will explore digital tools, platforms, showing the benefits of digital culture to traditional filmmaking.

DOCUDRAMA - in conjunction with AIDC, the final day of the conference will feature docudrama. Documentary filmmakers will be shown dramatisation techniques to expand their storytelling and drama directors can learn about the the crossover of documentary strategies into drama directing.
