The Australian Cinematographers Society (ACS) is celebrating its 50 years contribution to Australia’s film and television history with a landmark conference, exhibition and awards gala dinner from May 28 - June 1, 2008 at the Overseas Passenger Terminal, Circular Quay West, Sydney.
Included are a free technology exhibition and 2 x Free Industry Panel Sessions open to all on Saturday, 31 May. Speakers include Bruce Beresford (Driving Miss Daisy, Mao’s Last Dancer, The Getting of Wisdom), George Miller (Mad Max, Babe, Happy Feet), as well as Academy Award winning cinematographers Andrew Lesnie (Babe, Lord of the Rings trilogy, King Kong) and Dean Semler (Dead Calm, Apocalypto, Dances with Wolves, I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry). Also speaking will be international guest Daryn Okada, President of the American Society of Cinematographers. Daryn’s credits include Baby Mama and Harold and Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay which opened at No. 1 & 2 positions at the US box office 3 weeks ago.
With the theme of The Future of the Image, ACS50 is relevant to all film and television industry professionals.
